The Retired Los Angeles City Employees, Inc. (RLACEI} is the association that represents retired members of LACERS, the City of Los Angeles’ retirement system. Our mission is to assure a financially sound retirement system that is adequately funded, so that all present and future retirees will receive the financial benefits they earned during their City careers.

RLACEI is committed to the exclusive protection and promotion of your benefits. While various stakeholders, including the Mayor, City Council, CAO, and Unions, hold an interest in these matters, their attention is necessarily divided. RLACEI, however, remains singularly dedicated to your well-being. Your participation is vital to our collective strength and ability to effectively advocate for your interests. The RLACEI Board meets monthly to discuss and act upon matters impacting your retirement benefits. Our commitment extends to monitoring the actions of the City Council and attending LACERS Board meetings, ensuring proactive advocacy for our membership. Furthermore, RLACEI members are invited to participate in annual social gatherings, including a picnic and holiday gala, which provide valuable opportunities to connect with fellow retirees. 

Working together we have achieved major improvements in our retirement system, including:

• Election of retiree to the Retirement Commission to represent us and protect our financial interests

• Annual Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA)

• Maintaining a strong Health Insurance Program, including subsidy for retiree and dependents

• Medicare Part B reimbursement for retirees with both Parts A and B of Medicare

• Retired Dental Insurance Program subsidy

• Continuation of health subsidy for surviving spouse

• Increase of death benefits to $2,500

• Hearing Aid and Eyeglass program

• Increase monthly check for Large COLA bank holders

These benefits are the direct result of many hours of work by your fellow retirees.
